User Experience (UX)

According to Interaction Design Foundation User experience (UX) design is the process design teams use to create products that provide meaningful and relevant experiences to users. This involves the design of the entire process of acquiring and integrating the product, including aspects of branding, design, usability and function.

“User Experience Design” is often used interchangeably with terms such as User Interface Design (UI) but UI design is actually a subset of UX design and the two have their differences but are both involved in the design of products.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

SEO stands for “search engine optimization.” In simple terms, it means the process of improving your site to increase its visibility when people search for products or services related to your business in Google, Bing, and other search engines. The better visibility your pages have in search results, the more likely you are to garner attention and attract prospective and existing customers to your business.

How to improve both UX and SEO?

In this article, I’ll show you how to boost your website’s SEO while also increasing the user experience.

UX and SEO

Optimize your site for mobile devices

Mobile usage is on the rise, as I’m sure you’re aware. This means that when most websites are designed, responsiveness is taken into account. According to Google, mobile devices account for more than 60% of all Google searches. Google, of course, is aware of this and assigns sites a ranking based on it. Mobile responsiveness is equally vital for improving your site’s user experience and SEO.

Alt text for images

It is critical for you to consider accessibility while designing your products as a designer. One of the best practices of accessibility is having alt text for images for users who really on-screen readers. You may also utilize this alt text to contain keywords for your website, which can help with SEO.

Well structured content

Including necessary details and in the right format is an important part of making a page’s content valuable to the visitor. Shorter sentences and paragraphs; Linkable table of contents for longer pages; Header tags every few hundred words;

For starters, you want to make sure every page is human-readable. So, that involves: Not only will this improve the user experience on your site, but it will also make crawling and indexing your site easier for search engines.

Page loading speed

Make sure you only include content on your site that is most relevant to the user while building it. Optimize your images and stay away from too many animations and visual effects to keep your site loading quickly. Page speed might cause users to abandon your site and search engines to give it a low ranking.

The approaches listed above can help you improve your site’s UX while also improving your SEO. After all, having consumers use a digital product is crucial, and what better method to gain new users than through online visibility?
